Optidraft is a tool for live fantasy baseball drafts which allows you to make the most of your knowledge of players while reducing the stress of a live draft to a minimum. Using Optidraft is easy: projections are provided* and can also be imported from spreadsheets or imported directly from the SportsLine web site. Now you can even get projections from SportsLine just by signing up to participate in a mock draft! Edit the projections if you so desire and you're ready to draft! Everything about Optidraft's user interface is designed to make the draft process flow smoothly, from the size of the window to the flexibility of the player listings and the manner in which player choices are indicated.
The premise Optidraft is based on is that each owner wants to draft a starting lineup that is projected to score as many points as possible. Owners using Optidraft will be able to accomplish this with a level of precision that is not possible with simple rankings. The advice it provides will allow you to draft a complete starting lineup with a minimal number of selections. If you choose to ignore its advice, it will warn you if the player you want will not fit into your starting lineup (meaning that you will not have a complete starting lineup as quickly as possible). Optidraft takes into account player eligibility at multiple positions in determining which players will fit into your starting lineup. It provides a suggested pick as well as a backup to queue before your turn to draft in order to reduce the chance that a player that you don't want is chosen for you and is smart enough to know when you can probably afford to pass on a player because the teams picking before your next turn have his positions (and, for non-pitchers, the utility position) covered.
Optidraft will make your draft a lot easier. At the same time, it will put pressure on your opponents because your quick picks mean they have less time to think about their next pick.
*As of version 2.01, Algoscribe will not provide updated projections. However, projections can still be imported from spreadsheets or the SportsLine web site.
